Openness to the international context and its literature in business disciplines rests on firmer foundations when it draws on full awareness of the doctrinal and theoretical knowledge of Accounting and Business Economics.

The positive experience of the two previous editions in Cagliari (2010) and Pescara (2013) led the SISR Executive Committee to schedule the third edition of the School of Historical Research Methodology for 10-12 June 2015 at the University of Milano-Bicocca.

As in the past, the School aims to encourage historical studies rooted in the deep tradition of the best business economics theories, in an increasingly necessary multidisciplinary approach and in the conscious adoption of appropriate research methodologies.

The School therefore consists mainly of seminars aimed at strengthening the meta-disciplinary and disciplinary foundations of Accounting and Business Economics, fostering a genuinely multidisciplinary perspective and promoting knowledge of the various research tools available to the accounting historian.

Among the many topics covered by the School's seminars are the relationships between Accounting History, Philosophy of Science and Economic History, historiographical research methods, New Accounting History, the various accounting theories, archival sources (state and business archives), palaeography, the processes involved in publishing in accounting history journals, and much more.

The School involves the continuous and active participation of attendees through a wide range of readings and dedicated discussion sessions on the topics covered, also to enable them to approach historical research with greater awareness, so that, thanks to its quality, it may in future be accepted by national or international journals in the field. Applications to attend the School, using the attached form, must be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 30 April 2015, together with a curriculum vitae and a letter of presentation from at least one full member of SISR.

SISR reserves the right to accept up to a maximum of 26 candidates among subject experts, PhD students, PhD holders and researchers, and will communicate the outcome of the selection by 10 May 2015.

Participation in the School requires the payment of a fee of 140 euros, including accommodation, to be paid by 20 May 2015 into SISR's bank account at Banca Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze SpA, Pisa branch 0413:
