SISR, the Italian Society of Accounting History, is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Italian “GUIDELINES ON THE ACCESSIBILITY OF IT TOOLS”.

This website has been designed to be usable by as many people as possible. We have enabled an accessibility toolbar that allows users to customise how content is displayed according to their needs.

How to use the accessibility toolbar

You will find the accessibility toolbar icon on every page. Clicking it opens a panel with the controls described below. The selected settings are applied immediately to the page you are viewing.

Available features

  • Text size: increase or decrease the text size.
  • Contrast and colours: high/low contrast mode, greyscale or inverted colours.
  • Highlighting: highlight links and headings to make them easier to find.
  • Text spacing: adjust line height and spacing between letters and paragraphs.
  • Readable fonts: select an easy-to-read font (e.g. for dyslexia) when available.
  • Reading mode: enable a simplified reading mode for the page.
  • Pause animations: stop animations and moving content.
  • Keyboard navigation: support for keyboard commands and “skip to content” links.
  • Pointer and cursor: enlarge the cursor for better visibility.

Good practices adopted

  • Semantic structure with headings, lists and alternative text for images.
  • Adequate colour contrast and recognisable links.
  • Accessible forms with labels associated with their fields.
  • Content usable without a mouse.

Compliance and continuous improvement

Our goal is compliance with the WCAG guidelines at level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing process: we keep monitoring and improving the website to reduce barriers and usability issues.
